Rajasthan Trip 2006

At Ajmer we got down and in the train we had decided that we would go to Pushkar straight away. So after getting down at Ajmer, we boarded a Mi9nidor auto and got down at Agra gate. He charged us Rs 3 each from there. One man guided us to a place where buses to Pushkar are available. It was a walking distance and the bus was waiting. It was an empty bus but got full in 5 mins. The bus started immediately after it was full. The way to Pushkar was through a hill and the way through was like a serpent, therefore the mountain is called as ‘Nag pahad’ which means snake mountain. It was a half an hour journey and on the way we saw a lot of langoors. We reached at Pushkar, and bus stand is far away from the town. After getting down from bus, i called a few hotels and finally decided to stay in Paramount Palace.   It was a good place and had a good view to the lake. 23.10.11 we started very early in the morning as we had to board the 6.15 am Geetanjali express. So got up at 4 am, and we were out of the house by 4.45 am. We reached Dadar comfortably and in 15 mins, Geetanjali express arrived. We got into our compartment and into our seat. We were a bit hungry now so had our food, and promptly went to sleep. The train was chugging along. We got up at aroound 12 in the noon, and then on were trying to sleep but could not. Our destination was Shegoan, which was supposed to arrive at 2.30 pm. So we were playing games and passing our time, which quickly passed. The train reached Shegoan at right time. We got off the train and took an autorickshaw to the temple. The autorikshaw person dropped us near Bhakt Niwas, which is where all the pilgrims stay. As were also on a pilgrimage, we too decided to stay here. Travelogue of travel to Himachal Pradesh

Travelogue of travel to Himachal Pradesh 1st November 2010. We started from Chakki Bank, got down there and took an auto rickshaw to Pathankot. At Pathankot bus stand we got a bus to Dalhousie. It was a 3 hr ride and we reached Dalhousie at around 6 pm on 1st of November 2010. We checked a few hotels and finally settled for Aarti Hotel (Garam Sadak, Near GPO, Dalhousie 176304 HP.  Tel 01899-242433 for our stay. It had a wonderful view of the valley down. The staff was helpful and it was fairly cold at that place. We unpacked our bags and got into warmer clothes. This hotel is on the thandi sadak, between Subhash Chowk and Gandhi Chowk. Gandhi Chowk is the place where all the market is located. We had food at Hotel Sharma. 2nd November 2010 The next day we got a bus to Chamba. The view of the surroundings while travelling was just stupendous. We were travelling alongside river Ravi, and saw pine tree forest, snow capped mountains and river Ravi gushing alongs...
