11th June Haridwar
As usual we all got up late and were ready to roam around in Haridwar. By 9am we were at Mansa Devi temple. We took a combined ticket of cable car of Mansa Devi and Chandi devi, which turned out to be a mistake. There was no rush and we boarded the cable car in no time. After taking blessings from Mansa Devi we were on our way to Chandi devi. We reached their by 11 and were surprised to find a huge rush. So much so that we were told that our turn on the cable car will come after 2 hours. We enquired with the people around and they said that it is just half an hour climb. We decided to walk and really we were at the temple in half an hour. We took darshan and were on our way back. Then we went to Har Ki Pauri. We had a wonderful time there frolicking in Holy river Ganga, looking at the trinkets being sold around and tattoo makers busy in their work on the road side. After enjoying we were back to our room as we had to board the train today at 6.50pm. bags were packed and by 6 we departed to the station. On reaching we came to know that the train is late and will depart at 8pm. We had our dinner and when the train came alighted it and were relaxed on our seats. Today we were departing from a wonderful tour of Uttarakhand esp.  Chardham and we had thoroughly enjoyed it. We had all planned it ourselves  with inputs from many sources. Most importantly we had physically prepared ourselves for this arduous journey and we had walked almost 100 kms in the last 10 days.
Thus ends this fantastic travelogue. I know after the tragedy in uttarakhand this will not be of any help for some years but I am sure some day some where it will be helpful.

Bhimashankar Trek 13.8.1994

Bhimashankar Trek 13.8.1994 4 friends, Suwas Darvekar, Salim Fidai, Hemant Patil and Ravi Patil were a group of crazy people, who were recently stung with a trekking bug. A small trek to Matheran was done before and with that experience, we thought of doing another trek. 13 th August 1994. It was a 3 day holiday on a trot 13 th being a Saturday, 14 th a Sunday and 15 th August being the Independence Day. So this 4 crazy people meet early in the morning at Dadar station to trek. Where to trek was not yet decided, but we were all packed for a good trek. Every one of us was carrying water, foodstuff, Torch and a rope. Of course we were carrying spare clothes. Travelogue of Maharashtra esp Chikhaldara, Lonar, Ajanta, Ellora and Aurangabad

23.10.11 we started very early in the morning as we had to board the 6.15 am Geetanjali express. So got up at 4 am, and we were out of the house by 4.45 am. We reached Dadar comfortably and in 15 mins, Geetanjali express arrived. We got into our compartment and into our seat. We were a bit hungry now so had our food, and promptly went to sleep. The train was chugging along. We got up at aroound 12 in the noon, and then on were trying to sleep but could not. Our destination was Shegoan, which was supposed to arrive at 2.30 pm. So we were playing games and passing our time, which quickly passed. The train reached Shegoan at right time. We got off the train and took an autorickshaw to the temple. The autorikshaw person dropped us near Bhakt Niwas, which is where all the pilgrims stay. As were also on a pilgrimage, we too decided to stay here.
