Travelogue of Uttarakhand, 1st June 2103
1 st June 2013 We got up at 4.30am. After finishing our morning rituals, we started our climb at 5am. We reached Yamunotri at 8am. We took bath in the hot spring that is channeled in a small pool. It was refreshingly hot. We were in that hot water for half an hour. Then after changing over we went to the temple, took darshan. Then we cooked a small quantity of rice in that hot pond, or rather semi cooked it. Then tied that semi cooked rice in a small cloth. We were told to make a kheer out of it and eat it as a Prasad. And spending some time, we started our descend. We came down literally running. The way was jam packed by the mules, and at certain places it was a traffic jam, where everyone was stuck where they were. We made way and were at our room by 11.30am. We freshened up, packed our bags and were in the cab at 12.30 pm. So started our journey to Gangotri. We had planned to reach as close to Gangotri as possible by evening.
