Trip to Madhya Pradesh 1

Embarking on a mesmerizing journey through the heartland of India, our family's vacation in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh unfolded like a tapestry of cultural exploration and scenic wonders.

Setting the stage for our adventure, we boarded the Kolkata Mail from Mumbai on the 13th of January. With Tanvi's exams behind us, the air was filled with the excitement of a well-deserved vacation. Comfortably nestled in our seats, we enjoyed a peaceful journey, dining onboard and eagerly anticipating the experiences that lay ahead.

As the sun painted the morning sky, we found ourselves engaged in cheerful conversations with fellow passengers. The train provided a lively backdrop as our paths crossed with a delightful lady and her two playful children, adding an extra layer of joy to our expedition.

Our original plan included getting off at Satna and making our way to Maihar and Chitrakoot. However, the serendipity of travel intervened when a local fellow traveler suggested a more convenient route. Following his advice, we decided to disembark at Maihar directly, making the journey smoother and more efficient.

Arriving in Maihar on the 14th of January, the clock struck 4:00 p.m., and our eager feet led us to a nearby hotel. Without wasting a moment, we set out to explore the enchanting Sharda Mandir. This sacred temple, adorned with 1057 steps, stands as a testimony to devotion and spirituality. A Shakti Peeth, it captured our hearts with its simplicity and amassed a devoted following.

After immersing ourselves in the divine energy of Sharda Mandir, we retreated to our hotel, reflecting on the meaningful beginning of our Madhya Pradesh sojourn. The crisp air of January 14, 2024, witnessed our family embracing the cultural richness and spiritual essence that this region had to offer.

Stay tuned as we unravel the tales of Maihar and venture forth to Chitrakoot in the upcoming chapters of our Madhya Pradesh travelogue. Let the adventure unfold, one captivating step at a time!
