31st May 2013.
So our journey was to start in right earnest today. Mr Manjit Singh came to pick us up in his Alto at 5.30. He was a bit late as we had got up at 4.30am and were ready by 5am. After cramming or luggage of 4 Rucksack’s in the car, we sat in the car. My friend had come to say bye and safe journey and we also said bye to him. And we were on our way. Our driver took us from Dehradun, and further from Mussoorie. Both the towns were silent as it was early morning. We saw Kempy falls, took some pics. We halted our car for a breakfast as some road side dhaba. Food was good. We had our full and proceeded further. We had reached Barkot by 12 noon. We had our lunch in a GMVN facility. The food was cooked to our liking. After having food we were in tha car again and on the way to Yamunotri. We reached Janaki Chatti by 3.30pm. We decided to stay back in Janaki Chatti and go to the Yamunotri trek in the morning. After seeing many facilities and there charges, we settled for Shri Hanuman Trust Ashram. The rooms were decent and the fare was not very high. They charged us Rs 600 for a 3 bed room. We roamed around Janaki Chatti, had our dinner at 7pm and were in our bed at 8pm.

Bhimashankar Trek 13.8.1994

Bhimashankar Trek 13.8.1994 4 friends, Suwas Darvekar, Salim Fidai, Hemant Patil and Ravi Patil were a group of crazy people, who were recently stung with a trekking bug. A small trek to Matheran was done before and with that experience, we thought of doing another trek. 13 th August 1994. It was a 3 day holiday on a trot 13 th being a Saturday, 14 th a Sunday and 15 th August being the Independence Day. So this 4 crazy people meet early in the morning at Dadar station to trek. Where to trek was not yet decided, but we were all packed for a good trek. Every one of us was carrying water, foodstuff, Torch and a rope. Of course we were carrying spare clothes. 23.10.11 we started very early in the morning as we had to board the 6.15 am Geetanjali express. So got up at 4 am, and we were out of the house by 4.45 am. We reached Dadar comfortably and in 15 mins, Geetanjali express arrived. We got into our compartment and into our seat. We were a bit hungry now so had our food, and promptly went to sleep. The train was chugging along. We got up at aroound 12 in the noon, and then on were trying to sleep but could not. Our destination was Shegoan, which was supposed to arrive at 2.30 pm. So we were playing games and passing our time, which quickly passed. The train reached Shegoan at right time. We got off the train and took an autorickshaw to the temple. The autorikshaw person dropped us near Bhakt Niwas, which is where all the pilgrims stay. As were also on a pilgrimage, we too decided to stay here.
